Are You Being Patient?

Most of us are living in unsettling times. In this moment, I would like to connect with you by asking, are you being patient with yourself and others? Are you choosing to see and experience patience as a gift, one that allows you the opportunity to give and therefore, receive?

It's Not Always Easy...

As we navigate through our days and spend the majority of these days with the same people, we may find it simple to lose patience with those around us, including ourselves. Everyone may seem on edge. There lies a stressful feeling that COVID-19 is putting on the entire world, and no-one seems to have a solid answer of when this will ever end.

So Many Unknowns...

We are filled with so many overwhelming uncertainties. When life seems to fill us with these unknowns, it is possible to have an effect on us in a way that could potentially have us feel, act and often say things that are completely out of character. We may experience those "scratch your head and wonder what is wrong with them", kind of moments. Just remember, as I mentioned in the prior excerpt, you are not alone.

We Are In This Together

As the entire world is working through this pandemic, it's important to remember, "We Are All In This Together". We are all on the same team, pulling in the same direction, wanting the same outcome. To get through this as soon as possible and resume life as we once knew it, just a few short weeks ago, we must challenge ourselves to center and move forward with purpose.

Are You Playing Your Part?

So, I ask you again. Are you choosing to see and experience patience as a gift? One that allows you the opportunity to give and therefore, receive? Are you leading by example and gifting those around you the patience you would like to be gifted in return? I urge you take the lead in this area. If you do, I believe you will find the coming days and weeks much more palatable, and even more enjoyable, to live and see it through.

Are You Taking Care of You?

While the world works through the trials and tribulations associated with COVID-19, many of us are on focused on taking care of others and making sure everyone is okay. But are you taking care of yourself? Are you taking time to feed your soul?

Gift Yourself Time

Whether your days are busy with school, work, family or to do lists, be sure you gift yourself some personal time. For instance: Time to read a book you have started or been wanting to read; Time to meditate, be silent and reconnect with all that is. Take time for a walk or time to sit on the porch and just be. Whatever it is, I urge you to gift yourself the time to do these things. Simply put, FEED YOUR SOUL.

Feeding Your Soul Has Many Benefits

Taking the time to do the things that feed your soul are very beneficial to you and those around you. These activities have revitalizing effects on us all, while calming and bringing peace, as well as bringing clarity into our lives. They will also allow you to better give and support those around you when they are in need.

Ways To Feed Your Soul

There are many things you can do to feed your soul. I would like to share with you some of my favorites.

  1. Meditation

  2. Working Out

  3. Reading

  4. Enjoying A Cup Of Coffee At A Café

  5. Spending Time By The Water

What Are You Doing?

Again, I will ask, what are you doing to feed your soul? How are you gifting yourself time to revitalize yourself? Your soul, like your physical body, needs to be fed on a daily basis. If this is not a practice you are currently doing, I urge you to start. It will change your life.

Do You Have The Courage To Be Better?

In these very unsettled times, when the world is trying to understand and come to grips with the senseless death of George Floyd, it is agreed upon by the majority that we all need to be better and do better. But do we have the courage? Are we willing to stand up for each other regardless of gender, race, creed or color to make real change and make things better for everyone?

It Starts With Me

Whether you watch tv, listen to the radio or are talking with your friends, everyone talks about making change and doing better for everyone. Companies are giving millions of dollars to groups all around the globe to invoke change. But is that really necessary? If real change is going to happen and be permanent, it starts with me. I must be better. I must do better. I must stand up for my brothers and sisters of all genders, races, creeds and colors, because I want to be better and do better. Not because someone told me to, but because I choose to. If and when we all take personal responsibility for injustice of all kinds, real change can and will take place.

Be the change you wish to see in the world. Be the change you want to see happen. We must be the change we wish to see in the world.
Mahatma Gandhi

The Time Is Now

The time for meaningful change is NOW! Not tomorrow or next week, but NOW! Will you show courage and commit to being and doing better today? Will you be the change you want to see happen? If its going to be, it starts with me! I am making that commitment to myself and to you. It takes courage, but the rewards will be priceless!!
